Scam websites are any illegitimate internet websites used to deceive users into fraud or malicious attacks. Scammers abuse the anonymity of the internet to mask their true identity and intentions behind various disguises. These can include false security alerts, giveaways, and other deceptive formats to give the impression of legitimacy.

  • You get an email you didn't ask for
  • You get an email from a familiar company but you didn't ask for it from them and if full of requests for you to "update" your information
  • If there are spelling and grammer mistakes, it is a scammer.
STOP THE SCAM

  • If the website is asking for any of your information, don't do it.
  • Do not click on the links in any email you didn't ask for or on any email asking you to update your information or your credit card.
  • Google the name of the company, open your account and check your information. If you see that the Googled website if different from the website they sent you to, exit the website from the email.
