A caller claims to be with the Canada Revenue Agency and they claim that you owe money, are in danger of being arrested, or you are going to lose everything because you have to pay the taxes right now, by credit card. bit coin or gift cards or by letting them access your bank account.

  • They ask for personal information, which they should have.
  • You are directed to pay via bitcoin ATM, gift cad, e-money transfer, by giving them access to your bank account or even by credit card.
STOP THE SCAM

  • Hang up and call the central CRA number
  • Log into your CRA account and see if there are any messages there.
  • The CRA does not send the police to arrest people.
